Vision: Our vision is to build the foundation that empowers every student to embrace their authentic selves and to achieve their full potential as learners and compassionate, responsible community members.
Mission: At Martin Luther King Jr. School of Excellence, our mission is to empower students to become responsible global citizens and lifelong learners by fostering relationships in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, while promoting accountability, collaboration, and diversity.
Our school prides itself on strong family and community partnerships. We actively cultivate respectful, supportive relationships among students, parents and teachers. We foster positive relationships through two-way communication and an open-door policy in our school. We encourage parents to visit our school and their child's classroom on a regular basis.
At King School, we welcome diversity and celebrate, acknowledge and enable our students and their families to bring personal thoughts, feelings and experiences into the classroom.
Every student's path to graduation will include excellent teachers, principals and other caring adults at all levels of education who can help them meet academic expectations, plan for their future and feel connected to our school.
We provide a variety of options that allow students to succeed by participating in programs that are designed to spark individual interests and keep kids engaged.
We provide resources and support to ensure that every student has an opportunity to navigate a path to graduation and beyond.
