Our mission is to build upon student knowledge to make meaningful connections between school and real-life experiences that empower students to be flexible leaders and problem solvers through critical reading, writing, speaking, listening, and culture.

Summary

  • The Humanities pathway is for students who want to develop strong communications skills and be critical consumers of the world in which we live. 

  • This Pathway provides a strong foundation for students considering, but not limited to, a career in journalism, communications, law, education, and language. 

  • Through the study of literature, philosophy, history, civics, culture, and the arts, students delve into the processes of making meaning to gain a greater understanding of themselves, their community, and the world. Humanities course work is explored through an interdisciplinary lens to see the intersection of literature, communication, culture, history, and the arts and how they have shaped the human experience. This is a supportive and collaborative community where students learn to be reflective, critical thinkers. Students in this pathway will use their academic and practical learning to gain information and experiences essential in fostering a more global perspective of political systems, history, economic issues, language, literature, and other aspects of culture that will enable them to work with and for the community.
