National Honor Society & Northern Rivers Giving Tree

It is that time of year again for you to help National Honor Society make this a Happy Holiday Season for some of the less fortunate families in Schenectady!

The Giving Tree project is done in cooperation with the Northern Rivers and provides gifts to families in Schenectady who might not be able to afford them. Each year, the project benefits hundreds of people in our area, many of them friends and neighbors.

This year, you have a two options for purchasing gifts:

To give directly to the residents of Northern Rivers (these are the teens who live there), order from the Amazon wish list linked below and have it shipped directly to a Northern Rivers Resident.

If you would rather choose a gift for the children and families of the Schenectady community, you can choose an ornament from the tree in front of the main office. Each ornament has a suggested gift idea, but you have the opportunity to shop for something you'd like to give. These gifts must be unwrapped and brought to school no later than 12/12.

There are all kinds of gifts from toys to electronics, from beddings to necessities. All the gifts have been specially selected to meet the needs of the families that are served.

Gifts must be returned to Pam DiMezza in room A12 no later than Thursday, December 12th. Otherwise, they will not be able to be delivered and will be held for next year.

The gifts will be delivered to the Northeast Parent headquarters where they will be combined with hundreds of other gifts and distributed to needy families.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Pam DiMezza at dimezzap@schenectadyschools.org. Please feel free to share the list with friends and relatives who might want to participate!
