Congratulations to Joe DiCaprio who was named deputy superintendent of the Schenectady City School District. The board of education approved his appointment at the meeting on March 20.
Prior to this appointment, DiCaprio was assistant superintendent of planning, accountability and district initiatives since September 2023. Prior to that he worked as executive director of elementary school in Schenectady since fall 2021. He served as an elementary principal in Schenectady from 2008-2015. He worked as an elementary school principal in Niskayuna for six years until his return to Schenectady schools in 2021.
DiCaprio earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Concentration in English/Cum Laude from the State University of New York College at Cortland, a Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration (K12) from the State University of New York College at Albany, and School Leadership Certification from SUNY New Paltz in December 2022.
