Reading is Fun

The Reading is Fun (RIF) Program trains volunteers to work one-on-one with students in grades pre-K through 3 who benefit from additional support developing literacy skills.

RIF currently has 94 volunteers working with 170 students across the district.

In September, RIF launched the first annual "Fall Into the Alphabet" program. Thanks to Fenimore Asset Management, Brokers Network, The Ricci and Bell Families, and an anonymous donor, RIF distributed 1,092 new alphabet books to every pre-K and kindergarten student in the Schenectady City School District.

RIF is alway seeking volunteers. To learn more about RIF or to sign up to volunteer, click here.
