Brooks is no stranger to the Schenectady community. He began his career as a Social Studies teacher at Schenectady High School and previously served as the Dean of Students at Oneida MiddleSchool. His return to Schenectady marks a "coming home" for a leader who deeply understands our students, our families, and our expectations for excellence.

In 2019, Brooks was recognized as a New York State Administrator of Excellence, a prestigious honor that reflects his unwavering focus on creating high-quality, supportive learning environments. He holds an Advanced Certificate in School Leadership and multiple degrees from The College of Saint Rose.

"I began my career in the Schenectady City School District over 20 years ago and am very excited to be returning with a wide array of experiences,” said Brooks. “As I have progressed throughout my career, there has not been a more rewarding job than working for the Schenectady City School District. I am privileged to be back helping to serve the students, staff, and families."
