📈 BOSTON BOUND! Schenectady High is Heading to Nationals! 🗽✈️
Huge congratulations to Schenectady High School students Dubraj Basant, Khareena Girdhari, Lyric Robison, and Marcus Williams. They have officially qualified as finalists for the 2026 JA National Stock Market Challenge.
After beating out over 500 local students at the regional competition at UAlbany, this powerhouse team is heading to Boston from June 8-11 to represent Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York on the national stage.
💼 What’s the Challenge?
Our students will compete at the Future Bound by Junior Achievement event, going head-to-head with the sharpest young financial minds in the country.
They will manage a hypothetical $1 million portfolio.
It's a high-stakes, fast-paced simulation where 1 minute = 1 trading day!
They'll be competing for national honors, scholarships, prizes, and six distinct awards (including the RSM Resilience and Staples Sustainability awards).
🧠 Driven to Succeed
What makes this even more impressive? This team is made up of students from different classes who did all of their prep work, from selecting stocks to writing reports, entirely on their own time.
Shoutout to their incredible teacher advisors, Lorelei Hotaling and Laurie Rasmussen, for guiding them along the way.
"The JA Stock Market Challenge is a fun and interactive way for students to learn about the stock market and financial literacy. We are excited to see the strategies and creative thinking that students will bring to the competition."
— Christine Horne, President of JA of Northeastern New York
The entire Schenectady community is cheering you on. Go show Wall Street how it's done. 🚀💸
