There will be no school and the district offices will be closed on Wednesday, 3/8 in observance of the Holi Holiday.
It's a day off but it's also an opportunity to learn about the Hindu holiday celebrated by so many in the Schenectady Community.

Last night we informed parents that there was a vehicle in Central Park trying to lure kids into a car with stuffed animals. The Schenectady Police investigated and do not believe there is any safety concern as it relates to this incident.

Due to the weather forecast, the Elementary STEAM camp will NOT be held tomorrow. This applies to all locations: King, Hamilton, Paige, Keane, and Yates.
STEAM Camp will resume on Friday.

Dear Parents/Guardian,
I am writing to inform you that today there was a hold in place issued at Pleasant Valley Elementary School due to a water leak.
During a hold in place, students remain in the classroom and the learning continues; however, students’ movement outside of the classroom is limited.
I am pleased to report that students did a great job remaining calm and following adult directions and emergency response protocols. Minor changes were made to dismissal procedures to ensure students were not in the vicinity of the leak.
Safety is always a top priority at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. Throughout the year we practice various safety drills in order to improve our ability to protect students, save lives, and reduce injuries. These practice drills enable students to know what to do when a situation occurs, such as what happened today.
Please talk to your child about this event, if you deem it appropriate.
