Congrats to Parmesh Thakoordial

Graduate Selected as Obama Foundation Voyager Scholar

We are proud to share exciting news about one of our graduates. Parmesh Thakoordial, SHS Class of 2023, has been named a 2025–2027 Voyager Scholar through the Obama Foundation.

The Voyager Scholarship, also known as the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service, is a prestigious two-year program created by President Barack Obama and Brian Chesky, CEO of Airbnb. It is designed to support students committed to public service and making a difference in their communities. Scholars receive up to $25,000 per year in financial aid during their junior and senior years of college, a $10,000 Summer Voyage stipend with Airbnb housing to pursue a global work-travel experience, and a $2,000 annual travel credit for ten years after graduation. In addition, recipients participate in a Fall Summit and gain access to a national leadership network through the Obama Foundation.

Parmesh’s selection is a tremendous honor that reflects his dedication and vision. Over the past few years, his journey has taken him through summer programs at Stanford, Yale, and Harvard, and now into this extraordinary opportunity to join a network of future leaders focused on equity and service.
