Patrick Martin is named new High School Cohort Assistant Principal
The Schenectady City School District is pleased to announce that Patrick M. Martin has been selected to serve as a High School Cohort Assistant Principal. His appointment was officially approved by the Board of Education during their meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
With over 26 years of dedicated service in education and youth advocacy, Mr. Martin brings a deep well of experience and strategic insight to Schenectady High School. His career has spanned classrooms, community programs, and cross-sector collaborations, all rooted in a commitment to preserving the dignity of youth and empowering families.
Beyond the traditional classroom, Mr. Martin has led vital community-based programs supporting youth transitioning from juvenile facilities, ensuring they have access to vocational training and job-readiness resources. He is a visionary leader widely recognized for building trust with students, caregivers, and community agencies through inclusive practices.
Mr. Martin earned a B.A. in Sociology & Criminal Justice from Fairmont State University, M.S. in Education from Nazareth University, and an M.S. in Educational Leadership from St. John Fisher University.
We are excited to welcome Mr. Martin to the Schenectady High School team. He will officially begin his role in the district on May 4, 2026.
