Start Date: Most programs begin on September 22, 2026.
Hours: Programs run daily after school from 2:40 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.
Locations: On-site at district elementary schools.
New Online Registration Process
This year, we are moving to a convenient online registration system. When registration officially goes "live," you will receive an email containing the direct registration link for your child's specific school.
What You Need to Do Now
To ensure a seamless signup process, you must have an active Parent Portal account. Please take a moment now to verify your account or set one up so you are ready to log in the moment registration opens.

Registering for Afterschool Programming through the Parent Portal
Welcome to the AfterSchool Programming registration guide. Follow the simple step-by-step instructions below to register your child through the Parent Portal. Please complete an application for each student
Note: Make sure that you have a Parent Portal account prior to registering.
To sign up for a Parent Portal account, email Central Registration to get your activation code: Registration@schenectadyschools.org You should receive a code within 72 hours.
Step-by-Step Registration Guide
Log into the Parent Portal, navigate to the main menu, click on School Store, and select “Shop”.
Clicking "Shop" will direct you straight to the Activity Registration section.
Open the Registration Form: Locate Afterschool Registration, click the “View” button, and a pop-up window will appear on your screen.
Choose your student from the drop-down menu. Note: A separate form must be completed for each individual student.
Under the Required Form section, select “Activity Registration” to open the form.
Parents/Guardians must fill out the form completely. Note: All required fields are marked in red, and the form cannot be submitted without completing these fields. A signature is required at the end.
Once the form is fully completed and signed, click the “Submit” button located at the bottom of the screen.
You will be brought back to the registration window. Click “Add to Cart”. Afterschool Programs are FREE.
On the right-hand side of the screen, select “My Cart”.
You will be brought to a screen to review the application. Click “Submit” to complete the process.
Parents/Guardians will receive an email receipt confirming the registration.
