2024-2025 Budget
Mr. Gillooley presented a budget update. There are not many changes since the last update. He reiterated that the plan for the 2024-2025 Budget is to maintain all current programs and staffing levels as they are the current year with no increase to the tax levy.
Staffing meetings have been held with each of the schools and building budgets are being finalized.
He shared information on how Schenectady compares to other local districts regarding the tax rate. He also provided an overview of the district fund balance and spoke about the Education Law and our district policy regarding transportation. This information is all included in the presentation available here.

Celebrating Phagwa/Holi
There is no school on Monday, March 25 in observance of Phagwa/Holi which is a significant Hindu festival that is a cultural and religious celebration to welcome spring, a new beginning, where people can start fresh. At the board meeting Wednesday, Schenectady High School 10th grader Suraj Singh spoke about the significance of Phagwa/Holi and how it is celebrated. Roshni Mangru performed a beautiful Holi dance.
Many of our schools held Holi celebrations today. Below are photos from Paige Elementary School (first row) and Schenectady High School where students enjoyed a Holi Festival of Colors celebration.
