6th grade orientation for Oneida MS
Join Us for Welcome to the Jungle! The Schenectady Summer Theatre Camp invites you to our free performance of Welcome to the Jungle on Friday, July 31st in the Mont Pleasant Middle School Auditorium!

4:30 PM Show (PM Section) | Doors open at 4:00 PM
6:00 PM Show (AM Section) | Doors open at 5:30 PM
Both performances are free, open to the public, and run approximately 35–40 minutes.

The Schenectady Summer Theatre Camp, enrolling rising 3rd-5th grade students, aims to encourage participation in the performing arts at the middle school and high school levels by building a strong foundation of performance and production skills. Students participate in vocal, dance, and drama rehearsals and learn the process of producing a full musical theatre performance, including skills in set and costume design.

A main goal of the program is connecting our younger scholars with high school students and recent graduates who have excelled in our theatre and dance programs. Current and former students involved in these programs make up the majority of the staff of the camp and encourage and inspire our campers to continue in the performing arts, expanding the scope and reach of our middle school and high school programs. 🦁🎵🎭

Schenectady Urban Farm (SUF) is one of our Farm to School program's oldest and most dedicated partners. From raising seedlings and donating produce to hosting field trips and classroom lessons, SUF helps bring agricultural education to life. They are also a cornerstone of our Community Compost Project, turning over 100,000 pounds of Zoller Elementary cafeteria waste into nutrient-rich soil for our school gardens.

Powered by the Urban Agriculture and Community Gardens grant, SUF is now helping us expand student outreach, upgrading infrastructure, and helping us break ground on a district farm for hands-on STEM and nutrition learning.

Thank you for your continued support to keep our Farm to School program thriving! #schenectadyrising #districtpartner 🌻✨

Last week, Superintendent Cotto joined our Farm to Family Wheels Truck team! It’s always a great time seeing community members come out to the truck not only to feed their families delicious, healthy produce, but also to support our local farms in the process. Don’t miss the truck's stops this week on Friday! 🛞🌿
