Dear Schenectady Community,
On Friday morning at approximately 8:45, a student was approached twice by a male driving a grey FJ Cruiser near the corner of Bradt St. and Broadway. After speaking to the student once and driving away, the individual came back and offered a ride to the student. The incident was reported to police immediately and the district’s Community Engagement Officers were assigned to investigate.
At this time, the vehicle and license plate have been confirmed on video surveillance, but police have been unable to locate or contact the person in question. The individual is described as a mid 40’s male, large build, bald, with a medium complexion.
We continue to work closely with police as they proceed with their investigation.
If you have information, please call 911 or the Schenectady Police Youth Aid Bureau at (518) 382-5256. An important reminder to all students, parents, and community members, when you see something, say something. Always monitor suspicious behavior and be aware of your surroundings.
