Two - Hour Delay Friday

Due to the frigid temperatures and wind chill forecasts, all Schenectady City schools will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Friday, January 30, 2026.

The safety of our students, especially those who walk to school or wait at bus stops, is our primary concern. This delay allows temperatures to rise slightly and ensures all district buildings and bus fleets are fully warmed and operational.

Schedule Adjustments
• School Start Times: Classes will begin exactly two hours after their normal start time.

• Bus Transportation: Buses will arrive at stops approximately two hours later than the regularly scheduled time.

Cold Weather Reminders
We urge families to ensure students are dressed in extra layers, including heavy coats, hats, and gloves. If you are waiting for a bus, please remain indoors or in a heated vehicle until shortly before the adjusted pickup time.
