Early Dismissal Drill on Friday, October 3
This is a reminder about our upcoming annual "Go Home Early Drill," a practice required by New York State to ensure our School Emergency Management Plan is effective.
On Friday, October 3, 2025, all students will be dismissed from school 15 minutes early. The goal of this drill is to test our transportation and communication systems so they can operate smoothly in a real emergency.

Howe, Yates & Zoller are experiencing an unexpected intermittent power outage. While this has impacted some building operations, staff has made the necessary adjustments to ensure a safe environment. All students will be dismissed at the normal time today.

CHIME is still running afterschool as scheduled.
Important update: Yates Elementary currently does not have power. All school activities will proceed as normally scheduled. Dismissal will remain the same. Right at school is still on. Parents will be contacted if they have to cancel.
Just a friendly reminder: it's Elementary Back to School Night TONIGHT!
Join us to meet your child's teachers, see their classroom, and learn about the exciting year ahead. It's the perfect opportunity to get connected and build a strong foundation for a successful school year.

Reminder that Back to School Nights are coming up.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet your student's teachers, learn about the curriculum, and get a feel for their classroom environment.

There have been a few incidents recently where children were approached by strangers on their way to or from school or while waiting for the bus. We want to thank the students who did the right thing by immediately reporting what happened, which allowed police to respond promptly.
Your child's safety is our top priority, and we ask that you take a moment to review and reinforce important safety habits with them. Please remind your child to always report anything that seems suspicious to a trusted adult, whether it's a parent, teacher, or police officer. Having these conversations can give them the confidence to respond safely in any situation.
