🎻 Schenectady High School is proud to share that two of our student musicians, Zoe Daniels (flute) and Ayden Chrisman (violin) were selected to perform at this year's NYSSMA All State Festival in Rochester, NY 🎶

Each year, the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) hosts a conference showcasing elite performing ensembles made up of the most accomplished high school musicians in New York State. Zoe and Ayden are off to Rochester today for rehearsals leading up to a performance at the Eastman Theatre on Saturday evening. Congratulations to them both, we are so proud of you!

⚠️ Attendance Alert: Are You on Track?

Did you know that missing just 18 days of school (or 10% of the school year) makes a student chronically absent, regardless of whether the absence is excused?

With only 14 instructional days left until the holiday break, consistent attendance now is critical to: 📚 Close learning gaps. 📋 Prepare for screening assessments 🤝 Maintain classroom connection.

Learn more about the importance of attendance and the effects of chronic absenteeism: https://aptg.co/2qVRkF

Let’s partner to ensure every student is present and prepared for success.

The Schenectady City School District is committed to student safety, both in the classroom and online. We want to draw your attention to the increasing presence of risky and dangerous social media trends, particularly "challenges" circulating on platforms like TikTok.

While many online trends are harmless and fun, a small number encourage reckless, illegal, or physically harmful behavior. Due to peer pressure and the desire for social media attention, children may not fully grasp the severe, often permanent, consequences of participating.
