Mrs. Zadoorian's and Ms. Clift's 4th grade classes went outside to share their fictional Survival Narratives inspired by Hatchet. Students read together and suggested ways to improve each other's stories. Then enjoyed some additional time together to play on the playground!







Tay Fisher will be coming back to Paige Elementary for an after-school program, June 2nd-5th. This program will be open to all students in grades 3-5. The program will be capped at 40 students. Students will learn basketball skills, exercises, team bonding, sportsmanship, have fun and more!

REMINDER:   The 2025-2026 Budget Hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at 530 Liberty St.  The BOE work session will immediately follow the hearing.

National Music Week, celebrated by the National Federation of Music Clubs, was originated to focus attention on the value and enjoyment of music throughout our nation, to make the public aware of the importance of all forms of music in our lives and to encourage the participation of both the performer and the listener. It is observed during the first full week of May. 🎶

Paige Elementary School will be holding a literacy day on Monday, May 19th. We are looking for family volunteers from each classroom to come and read a book about careers to their child’s classroom. Paige Elementary Community School is working to refill our PBIS prize cart! The cart consists of prizes and special activities with staff. Our students have been earning tickets through being safe, responsible and respectful throughout the school day! The first Friday in May is School Lunch Hero Day, dedicated to those men and women who make the cafeterias and the schools a better place to be! What was your favorite school lunch? Do you remember the smiling face who served it to you?

PBIS Character Trait of the Month: Mindful. This month, our Paige Pandas 🐼 will be mindful of themselves and others❤️Mindful means paying close attention to what you are doing, feeling, or thinking. It also means being kind and careful with your actions.
Examples:
-When you eat slowly and taste each bite, you are being mindful
-When you listen carefully to your friend without interrupting, you are being mindful
-When you notice how you are feeling and take deep breaths to calm down, you are being mindful

Each May, National Speech-Language-Hearing Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of  ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) members in providing life-altering treatment.

Jewish American Heritage Month, observed every May in the United States, was established through a proclamation by President George W. Bush in 2006. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This month reminds us to reach out to loved ones and provide support to colleagues, friends and family who may be struggling in silence – but also a reminder to care for ourselves. Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, celebrated annually in May, recognizes the contributions and rich heritage of AANHPI communities to American history, society, and culture.
