Mawlid al-Nabi, Arabic for the “birthday of the prophet”, marks the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth with feasts, festivals, street parades, chants, decorations in streets, mosques and homes. This is celebrated starting the evening of 9/15-9/16.
