Together with the student council, the Paige Girls on the Run Team is raising money for NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) Capital Region. The team will be selling Mental Health Awareness bracelets for $1 during lunchtime the week of May 12th-16th 🐼

🗳 On Tuesday, May 20, residents of the Schenectady City School District will vote on the proposed $295,514,615 budget for the 2025-26 school year.
📈 This represents a $17,782,846 or 6.4% increase in spending
🚫 No tax levy increase for a seventh consecutive school year
🏛 The budget reflects the district's goals and supports the four pillars of the Strategic Plan
☑️ Since there is no tax levy increase, a simple majority is required for the budget to pass
🗣 Residents will also select two members to the Board of Education.

Mrs. Zadoorian's and Ms. Clift's 4th grade classes went outside to share their fictional Survival Narratives inspired by Hatchet. Students read together and suggested ways to improve each other's stories. Then enjoyed some additional time together to play on the playground!

Tay Fisher will be coming back to Paige Elementary for an after-school program, June 2nd-5th. This program will be open to all students in grades 3-5. The program will be capped at 40 students. Students will learn basketball skills, exercises, team bonding, sportsmanship, have fun and more!

National Music Week, celebrated by the National Federation of Music Clubs, was originated to focus attention on the value and enjoyment of music throughout our nation, to make the public aware of the importance of all forms of music in our lives and to encourage the participation of both the performer and the listener. The first Friday in May is School Lunch Hero Day, dedicated to those men and women who make the cafeterias and the schools a better place to be! What was your favorite school lunch? Do you remember the smiling face who served it to you?
PBIS Character Trait of the Month: Mindful. This month, our Paige Pandas 🐼 will be mindful of themselves and others❤️Mindful means paying close attention to what you are doing, feeling, or thinking. It also means being kind and careful with your actions.
Examples:
-When you eat slowly and taste each bite, you are being mindful
-When you listen carefully to your friend without interrupting, you are being mindful
-When you notice how you are feeling and take deep breaths to calm down, you are being mindful
Each May, National Speech-Language-Hearing Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) members in providing life-altering treatment.
