It has been an amazing first few days of school. I hope everyone had a great weekend, is rested and ready to take on the 4 day week. The iReady inform window has opened and students will be completing the iReady ELA and Math tests over the next 2 weeks. This is simply a test that helps us know where students are, so we can ensure we are continuously helping our students meet their goals.
Tomorrow, we have Jared Campbell visiting students in the morning. This is an incredible assembly that students have grown to look forward to. The first assembly will begin shortly after arrival (7:45).
We are challenging students to “Strive for 5” in their weekly attendance. What does this mean? They will be tracking their own attendance and trying to be at school every day( unless they are sick). Students will earn Tiger tracks ( our PBIS store money) for their attendance, and each week families have 100% attendance (or excused absence for illness), a ticket will be entered into a lottery for a gift card of their choice.

Welcome to Back to School Night! We are thrilled to welcome you into our classroom community. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about our curriculum, explore what your child will be experiencing this year, and discover how we can work together to support their growth. Students in grades K-5 will dismiss out their assigned doors for walkers at 2:30. Walkers are strictly students who are WALKING home. Please do not try and park as it causes safety concern.
Students in K-5 being picked up via car pool- please have ID ready for the first day to ensure all students are picked up by an authorized adult. Your child will be coming home with a dismissal card to be displayed in the window after that.
Car line will begin dismissal at 2:10 for the first week. Please be patient as we work out the beginning of the year kinks.

Please do not forget that Pre K dismissal begins at 2:10 in the New parking lot on Guilderland ave .
If you are picking up your student via carpool, please enter the parking lot, take a left and follow around the loop.
Staff will call for your student and put them in the car. Please do not park cars or get out, as we want to ensure the safety of all.
If you are walking with your student, please pick them up at the new parking lot entrance stairs. This ONLY for students who are walking- there is NO parking in either lot, or on the road during arrival and dismissal.

Please be on the lookout for letters from your child's teacher about the upcoming year. All supplies will be provided, so there is no worry about supplies. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.
The main office is under construction, so please report to the old main entrance on Guilderland Ave if you must come to the building.
A few important reminders and requests on this Beautiful Tuesday morning: Students entering Kindergarten, don't forget about the Kindergarten play date on August 13 from 11-12. This will be held on the Van Corlaer playground. Students will play, make friends and ensure teachers have time to see how students interact with one another prior to making class lists. The hope is to set all students up for success and a happy school year. ( flyer is attached).
Student arrival and dismissal relies heavily on routine and consistency. Please be sure to fill out the following form so ALL students can be in the appropriate location for arrival and dismissal. Once forms have been completed, you will receive more information.
