A few reminders for today:
DON'T FORGET TO PUT SUNSCREEN ON BEFORE SCHOOL
(Without signed consent we cannot apply or have students apply sunscreen.
What to wear/ bring:
swimsuit/ shorts and shirt you are ok swimming in
Towel
clothes over your swimsuit
If you are packing a lunch please do so in the brown bags sent home ( if it was misplaced- No big deal, we have more here)
What NOT to send:
Water bottles- We have purchased a ton of water for students)- this will eliminate them getting lost
lunch bags- we are trying to limit what students have to remember to bring back 🐯

The Schenectady Ole Timers Baseball Club will be running a Baseball Clinic for Sch'dy kids ages 7-12 on July 7 & 8 . The clinic is free & offers high level instruction.

Hi everyone! We are looking forward to all of the musical performances happening at Van before the end of the year. To streamline the sign in process, we ask that families fill out the appropriate Google Form with their FULL NAME and DOB for each attendee at the concert. This will greatly cut down on time spent waiting in lines!

Good Afternoon, We are excited to announce that we are having our field day 6/4/2025. Due to the limited size this year we were able to secure spots at Grafton and Moreau State parks to make a memorable field day for all of our kids. Grades K-2 will be going to Moreau State Park and Grades 3-5 will be going to Grafton. The goal is to send the entire building on this field trip for field day. We are trying our brand new, online permission slip. It is attached to our Van website! under the field day button.

🗳 On Tuesday, May 20, residents of the Schenectady City School District will vote on the proposed $295,514,615 budget for the 2025-26 school year.
📈 This represents a $17,782,846 or 6.4% increase in spending
🚫 No tax levy increase for a seventh consecutive school year
🏛 The budget reflects the district's goals and supports the four pillars of the Strategic Plan
☑️ Since there is no tax levy increase, a simple majority is required for the budget to pass
🗣 Residents will also select two members to the Board of Education.

I can't believe it is that time of year! Our Fifth graders are finishing their Van career in a very unique way, but they have been amazing role models and are almost ready for Middle school. We know they will be amazing!
