While last week was officially National School Counseling Week, we’re extending the celebration.
School counselors are the backbone of student success. They work tirelessly behind the scenes, addressing academic, career, and social-emotional development. Our school counselors work closely with families and staff, to ensure our schools are positive environments where every student can thrive.
Help us make up for lost time. Since we’re a few days behind, let’s flood our counselors with twice the appreciation.

We often talk about literacy as a skill, but it’s actually an opportunity. The ability to read fluently is the "master key" that opens every other door—from science and tech to art and leadership.
But here’s the catch: You have to be in the room to get the key.
When students are present, they are gaining the tools to:
*Advocate for themselves.
*Explore careers they didn't know existed.
*Imagine a future without limits.
Don’t let your student miss their moment. Every day in class is another opportunity to grow.

We are so incredibly proud to share this amazing story about one of our own. While most teenagers are counting down the days until they can get behind the wheel of a car, this SCSD student was already busy mastering the skies.
Check out this feature on how Anderson Seram learned to fly a plane before even earning a driver’s license.
