This past week, Simone Miranda, Assistant Director of Innovation, Equity, and Engagement, was recognized by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schenectady County for six years of dedicated service on the board — a milestone she celebrated humbly, without seeking recognition.
Simone embodies grace in leadership — leading with integrity, compassion, and quiet strength. She shows up consistently, gives her time selflessly, and uplifts everyone around her. She is a true example of women empowering women — a reminder that the most lasting impact is often made in quiet, steady ways.
Congratulations, Simone — so well deserved! #PassionatePeople

Hosted by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), the event successfully brought together district health leaders, school nurses, health teachers, and state partners. The critical goal of this convening was to collaboratively explore how to best support students, families, and communities through effective cannabis education initiatives.
Thank you to the following for representing SCSD at this event:

Today, let's celebrate what brings us together and stand against bullying. Unity Day is all about showing that we are stronger, kinder, and more vibrant when we include everyone.
Bullying thrives in silence. Let's make noise by wearing and sharing orange to show our commitment to a world where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued.

The most critical time for students is when they are getting on or off the bus. This area around the bus is known as the Danger Zone because the bus driver may not be able to see children there.
