On Friday, Schenectady High School students visited STS Steel for their annual Open House, where students got a firsthand look at how STEM and teamwork come together in the real world. Experiences like this help our students connect classroom learning to career opportunities right here in our community.
Thank you STS Steel for inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals in Schenectady💡

Early College High School Student Council Election Day 🗳 ECHS teamed up with the Board of Elections to give students a real voting experience, with ballots and ballot counters. It was a great way to engaged and get excited about civic participation.

✅ Voter Registration
✅ Student Voice
Today, each Schenectady High School senior participated in a lesson on civic engagement. They watched campaign speeches from their peers, filled out a real ballot from the Schenectady County Board of Elections, and placed it in a real ballot counter. Students then had the option to register or pre-register to vote with help from the NAACP Schenectady Branch 2175.

A medivac helicopter briefly used the high school field as a landing zone.
Please be assured that this landing was for an external medical emergency and was not related to any health or safety issue concerning SHS students or staff. The high school field is occasionally used as a designated emergency landing site for regional services.
