Due to a forecast calling for a wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, sleet and rain this afternoon, all after-school activities and events are cancelled today.

Congratulations to Ava Daniels, who will represent Yates at the district spelling bee. Great job to our 2nd and 3rd place winners, Tamiyah Hill and Luis Tapia. 🐝🔡🏆

Friday Feature Part 2 Meet Coach Viall I have been a PE teacher in the district for 21 years. This is my second year teaching elementary. I coach soccer, track and field, and Unified Bowling for the district.

Friday Feature Meet Coach Cerrone I've been with the SCSD for 20 years as a Physical Education teacher. I have coached both Football and Track and Field during my tenure in the district. This is my 6th year at Yates and there is no place I would rather be.

Feature Friday Mrs. Durkee, Yates Art Teacher I've been in Schenectady City Schools all of my life, graduating from SHS in 1997. My art teachers inspired me to go into teaching. I have been teaching elementary art in SCSD for 19 years. There's nowhere else I'd want to work!

Friday Feature Part 2 Meet Mrs. Stone This is her 19th year in Schenectady and 20th year as a Speech Pathologist. She enjoys working with all students at Yates, especially children in the Intensive Skills Program.

Friday Feature Meet Mrs. Steele She has worked in SCSD for 20 years, 18 of them at Yates. Fostering student’s communication skills has been the most rewarding part of her job as a speech-language therapist.
